About us - copywriting from Sunfish

Sunfish is a small communications agency run by Andy Maslen and Jo Kelly. We set up shop in 1996 and write copy for clients all over the world.

Sunfish copywriting clients are mainly large organisations in the private sector. Though we also work with large charities, government departments and smaller companies and voluntary organisations.

One agency - two copywriters

It's fairly easy to find one specialist b2b and subscriptions copywriter in a small copywriting agency. But two? We'd like to think that makes us different.

Andy Maslen

Andy spent 12 years working as a marketeer in the corporate sector, mainly for a research and business information company.

He is author of three books on copywriting and in demand as a copywriting trainer.

Andy is a direct marketing specialist - online and offfline - with many control-beating campaigns under his belt.

Jo Kelly

Jo's background includes senior sales and marketing roles at Premier Brands, Jacob's Bakery, Thresher, Disney Channel and Sky.

Jo specialises in copywriting for subscriptions, membership and internal communications.

In addition to copywriting, Jo provides marketing project management, and advice on employee brand engagement and internal communications.

About our associates

When your project calls for a designer as well as a copywriter, we bring in Ross Speirs. Ross is a talented designer and typographer with over 25 years’ experience. He handles all design work for Sunfish clients at his studio in Watlington, Oxfordshire.

For digital marketing, we work closely with Nick Carpenter of Oxford New Media. Working with Nick, we've created subscriptions emails for, among others, William Reed Business Media, CRU Group and Emap.

This way of working allows us to offer you a complete creative package without the inflated prices traditional agencies charge you.
