Dear Fellow Copywriter,
I think you and I are probably a little bit alike.
We enjoy learning from books, but value the chance to roll our sleeves up and learn by doing.
Which is why I am writing to you today.
I wanted to invite you to take part in my upcoming open copywriting course.
It’s called The Elements of Effective Copywriting: Crafting Copy That Influences, Persuades And Sells.
Explode your results
In just one day, I’ll give you enough tips, tricks and techniques to explode the results you get from your copy.
That goes for direct mail, digital marketing campaigns, corporate copy, PR and publicity, advertising, social media marketing and internal communications.
I have spent my entire working life – over 25 years – using the written word to sell. Everything from products and services to ideas and policies.
Now I want to share my insights with you in one practical, informative, enjoyable, stretching, insight-filled day.
Book your place today.
10 reasons to attend
On the day, I’ll show you how to:
- Focus on your reader so they do what you want
- Create powerful plans that save you time and effort
- Write compelling headlines that make people want to read on
- Grab – and hold – your reader’s attention from start to finish
- Use insider tricks to create reader rapport
- Use punctuation power to tune up your copy
- Avoid common mistakes that torpedo your selling power
- Edit and check your work so it’s error-free
- Access the “secret thing” that proves your copy is good.
- Get better results from every piece of copy you write
Interactive, action-orientated and flexible
The day is split pretty evenly between interactive learning sessions and practical exercises.
We’ll end with an exercise where everyone writes a piece of copy and gets feedback from me and the other delegates.
With attendance limited to just 16 people, you can be sure you’ll have all your questions answered.
Speaking of questions, what is your burning issue about copywriting?
This is how we always start the day on these workshops. It’s your chance to sort out that niggling question once and for all.
Do you want to know whether SEO copywriting matters?
How about the quick way to generate headline ideas?
Or techniques for saving time AND being more creative?
Is it possible to sell without being “salesy”?
How do you get people to read long copy?
What is the best way to proof-read your copy?
Are there any proven ways to open a sales letter or email?
I’ve covered all these and many more in previous workshops, so you can help shape the day just by asking questions.
Structure of the workshop
The day unfolds like this...
Section one: Dynamic Planning
- The planning paradox: why the accepted wisdom about planning is wrong.
- STORM: the key to fast, effective planning.
- How to step into your reader’s shoes.
- The two questions every prospect is asking you. And how to answer them.
- Three practical tools for faster, better planning.
Section two: Writing The Killer First Draft
- Finding the tone of voice that makes people want to buy from you.
- Getting some snap, crackle and pop into your copy.
- The style rules you must follow (and the ones you must ignore).
- How to write the perfect sentence.
- How to turn punctuation into the sharpest weapon in your armoury.
Section three: Polishing Your Diamonds
- Using pro editing techniques to polish up your copy.
- The little-known tool that makes more people read more of what you've written.
- The professional technique that guarantees error-free copy.
No Powerpoint
And just so you know, I never use PowerPoint, though I am a dab hand at flipchart diagrams.
Of course, this is me pitching to you, so you could argue I’m a little biased.
To redress the balance, here are a few of the thousand or so delegates from earlier courses I’ve run giving you their opinions…
What delegates say…
